‼️ IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT TO ALL MÖKÄ MEMBERS from the board‼️
Dear Mökänese
At the turn of year the member register provider used by Mökä changed their policies in such a way, that previously free “check your data” requests became subject to a charge. This change meant roughly 100 euros bill for every request, because the register had around 1800 members.
The register has a lot of members who have most likely continued to other activities a long time ago. Emails used back in the day are probably not in use anymore, and thus we cannot really contact these members in any way. There are not too many legal ways to remove such “ghost members” in the association act. For this reason, the annual meeting in February decided to set 0.50 euro membership fee for the year 2025. The goal of the fee is to be one-time thing, because its goal is to get a legal cause to remove these “ghost members” from the register. To this end, new members are not required to pay the fee.
The association wants to keep its activities as fair as possible, and hence as sub-association for AYY we need to keep track of members that are AYY members also. For this reason, it is little challenging to get rid of the requests and the request service provided by member register is the most certain way to reach all members, as not everybody subscribes to email list or follows Telegram.
The membership fee can be paid by cash in Mökä events or directly to Mökä bank account:
